Publix 3/30/09

I had a minute to check out another Publix before my sons' baseball games last night and they had Goodlife in stock! I used all but 1 of my Goodlife coupons and finished off the Lance cracker coupons. I had never been to this store before and wasn't sure if they accepted the Rite Aid coupon and was in a hurry to make it to the game so I didn't try using it. All of the Publix stores that I usually shop at have a Rite Aid very close by so I feel like I can justify using the coupon. This store was very crowded and I was more than happy to only pay $8.53 for all of this stuff! (but at my regular store my total would have been only $3.53!)

I went today for my .01 item (salad dressing) and to use some more Goodlife, Lance and Q-Tip coupons. My store was out of cat food (not surprising since I got most of it yesterday, lol) I also had a few more J&J coupons that expired on 4/1 so I decided to go ahead and use them for some more soap bars.

I had 2 separate orders and used (2) $5 off $25 Rite Aid coupons. I saved the rest of my Goodlife, Lance and Q-Tip coupons to use Sunday and Monday when I go for my .01 items.

Publix 2/24/09

My daily errands took me by 3 different Publix stores. 2 out of 3 had the Friday's Skillets in stock and the other store was sold out but had plenty of blinkies left. I actually tried one of these Sunday night for dinner and I was pleasantly surprised. My husband was not home for dinner that night but ate the leftovers the next day and he thought it was my leftovers from a restaurant. On sale and after coupons they were only $2.00 per bag and feed 2 adults. That is cheaper than 2 decent cans of soup and MUCH better. He happily made room in one of our freezers so that I could stock up on them. They are good until 2010 so we have plenty of time to eat them.

2 trips combined - used (2) $5 off $25 Rite Aid coupons

(14) Friday's Skillet Meals BOGO 2/7.99 - 14 x 2.00 off blinkies = 2.00 each
(1) T-Bone steak 6.80 - 2.00 Target coupon = 4.80

Publix 3/22/09

I went to Publix for some more Fridays Skillet Meals and they were all out so instead I just gathered enough stuff to get my .01 item this week. I didn't have any papers yet so I bought a $2.50 bundle pack and grabbed the .01 coupon from inside at the checkout. The 2 reusable bags were free with 2 boxes of Hamburger Helper. My store had the peelies stuck on the boxes but I used the coupons from the paper last week since they expire sooner. The peelies don't expire until 2010.

A little over my budget this week but I'm still happy with my totals. Our dinner Friday night would have cost $50 at any decent steakhouse and we have 4 steaks left for future dinners!

Publix 3/20/09

I realized that there was a Target coupon for the steaks and decided to go pick up a few more plus I wanted to pick up some things for our dinner tonight. This trip blew my weekly budget but it's OK. Dinner was WONDERFUL and we still have 4 more T-Bones for later.

(1) Oscar Meyer Hotdogs (In-Store Special) BOGO 2/2.99 = 1.50
(1) bag of Idaho Potatoes 2.49
(1) Bananas 1.97

Although my savings percentages got messed up and I went over my weekly budget with this purchase, $10.00 of my $25.91 total was for Coke products so for $15.91 my husband and I had a restaurant quality steak dinner. (plus we have 4 steaks left in our freezer!)

Publix 3/19/09

I decided to go on to Publix today and grab some of the Fridays Skillet Meals before the stock gets low this weekend. We have never tried them before but for $2.00 each (BOGO 2/7.99 - (2) 2.00 off blinkies) I thought it was a good time to give them a try. They also had some wonderful looking T-Bones on sale and decided to splurge this week and pick up a couple for dinner Friday night.

Another Buddie Soap Bar Coupon!

I ran across a coupon that I hadn't printed yet and wanted to post the link here for my fellow soap bar stockpilers. This one is $2.00 off any 2 Buddie products. You should be able to print it twice. 2 coupons should = 4 FREE or almost FREE Buddie Soap Bars.

3/6/09 - 3/13/09 Weekly Totals

Another under budget week, YAY! This week was mostly about drinks, toothpaste, hair care products and air fresheners. I did get a bunch of FREE mac & cheese also. The drinks/juice should last us for several weeks/months. Coming into Spring/Summer it's nice to have drinks stocked up for family outings, vacations, etc. When we go to the beach we ALWAYS take most of our groceries down with us. It saves time and is much cheaper!

I stopped in a different Kroger than I normally shop at to see if they still had the Cottonelle 4 packs, and they didn't. Looks like our FREE Cottonelle is no more. (wonder if we can talk Publix into selling it) I had my Whisker Lickins coupons and my $3.00 Johnson's Catalina which made the cat food FREE and the Buddie bars were .09 and I even earned a new $3.00 Catalina on my purchase so the cycle of (almost)FREE soap continues.

Walgreens 3/11/09 & 3/12/09

More FREE Glade, Garnier & Colgate!
$100.79 in Products for only $4.77.

This is two trips to two different Walgreens combined. I really didn't need any more toothpaste but I had a $1.50 coupon which created a bit of an overage to help offset the tax on the other stuff. I also only had 1 more Garnier coupon but my cashier sent me back for more because she had extra coupons to share. She actually had a huge binder by her register that she would flip through and hand out coupons to the customers. It was amazing. The book was so neat and organized with TONS of coupons! It was refreshing to be in a store that so happily accepted and ENCOURAGED them. I plan to visit that location more often. :-)

Walgreens 3/9/09

$160.98 in products for only $13.90!
I was able to find a Walgreens that had the Glade in stock and I was able to pick up 8 more FREE Glade, 10 more FREE Colgate and 5 more FREE Garnier. My cashier would not use the full value (7.99) of the BOGO coupon but he did allow me to use it for 3.99 so I was happy to get them FREE. The overage would have been nice though. I thought my total was too high since everything except the Coke products should have been FREE but (I'm assuming that) Walgreens charges tax on the total BEFORE coupons unlike CVS and Publix. You learn something new everyday. :-)
  • My Subtotal was $9.79 (and the Coke products were $13 so there was some overage on something but can't figure it out from the receipt)
  • Tax = $7.11
  • Total Out of Pocket $16.90
  • Register Rewards on Coke $3.00

Note: All of my Glade products had $3.00 coupons inside the box so if I can find some more in stock, I can pick up several more for only .99 each!

So my total should come down by $4.00.

The Ocean Spray is only .85 after BOGO and coupons and the Publix sodas are .16 when you use a Food Lion competitor coupon for $1.00 off 3. My second trip to Publix for this week's sale. It's hard to pass up the stacked coupons deal on the Tropicana, Pop Tarts and Nature's Own bread. Also I found a deal on the Suave and was able to stack some manufacturer coupons with a Food Lion coupon to make 8 bottles of shampoo FREE!
