2 trips to Publix yielded $108.94 worth of stuff for $1.99. I'm not really sure how it happened so I'm gonna break everything down and figure it all out.
A lot of the items had store coupons that could be stacked with regular coupons and they usually end up FREE or FREE with an overage. My local Publix is very lenient with their coupon policy but the register does "beep" when your coupons out number the amount of items purchased. When you stack coupons this can easily happen since you are basically using 2 coupons for 1 item. Although most managers will come and over-ride the "beep" I tend to avoid having any manager intervention if at all possible. They all smile when I come in to shop and I hope to keep it that way. I've started keeping track of my coupons vs. items purchased and make sure they are always equal to prevent the "beep". I've started picking up filler items (this week was the .50 Publix sodas) to offset the extra coupons I have. For example if I had 20 items and 26 coupons I would get 6 drinks to balance the order.
