Every time I make this particular meal I'm so excited that I was able to make something that the family loves all from stuff that I have purchased BOGO + coupons at Publix. If you have ever been to Outback and had one of their pasta meals this would remind you of the Walhalla Pasta minus chicken, but add shrimp. I use:
- 2 packages of SeaPac Shrimp Scampi
- 2 boxes of Pasta Roni - (Parmesan Cheese or Butter Garlic)
- 2 packages of the Birds Eye Steamfresh veggies (broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower)
Cook each thing separate and mix them all together. Fast, easy, and CHEAP too!
I figure that 2 boxes of shrimp BOGO + coupons cost about $5.00, 2 boxes of Pasta Roni BOGO + coupons cost about $2.00 and the frozen veggies BOGO + coupons cost probably about $3.00. In my opinion pretty close to a restaurant quality dinner for about $10.It easily feeds a family of 5 with leftovers for one of us to take to work the next day.
I'm sure people look at the random stuff I buy and wonder if my kids eat cereal and granola bars for dinner. My mother-in-law sometimes reads this blog and I think she would be happy to read that all 3 of the kids ate 2 plates full.
AWESOME!!
