I went for more charcoal and pork today and found the FREE Dixie napkin peelies! I stacked Target coupons with manufacturer coupons for the Dixie plates, Hefty trash bags, and Dr. Pepper. I ended up with 30 packets of Kool Aid to help balance my coupon vs. items count but had 3 coupons for .50/10 packs so got a great deal on the Kool Aid too!

I stopped by Publix to pick up some hamburgers to cook on the grill and ended up doing most of my weekly shopping. The store was well stocked with things on my list and I didn't have any kids with me so figured I would take advantage of the situation and shop in peace and quiet. lol :-)

Publix 5/12/09

I spent more at this trip than I normally do on a single trip to Publix but I have only made one trip this week instead of 3 or 4. I passed on the .01 item this week so I didn't shop at all over the weekend. I was able to use a bunch of the Kraft printables that were available this week plus I stacked some Target coupons. I'm looking forward to the next sales week to use more of the Kraft coupons paired with Target printables. There were also some great coupons in last week's paper that match the upcoming Publix ad.

I did go over my budget this week but look at all of the canned drinks! (23) 12 packs of drinks should last us a very long time!

Publix 5/7/09

I got a tip on southernsavers.com (Thanks Jenny!) about the Electrasol/Finish deal and ran out to grab a few boxes with my $2.50 coupons. I also was able to print some more Marzetti coupons (I guess they were reset from earlier in the month) so I got some more FREE coupons. The $2.50 Finish coupons created an nice overage so I got a case of Publix water to absorb it.

Publix 5/7/09

After a most disappointing trip to Kroger, I stopped by Publix on the way home. My store gets new stock in on Thursday and I had a rain check for the BOGO Schick razors from last week's sale.

In addition to my $4.00 Schick coupons, my store still accepts Target coupons so I had a nice overage on each pack of razors which helped absorb the cost of the other items. This is why I LOVE Publix. Look what I got here for $3.49 versus what I got a Kroger for $5.30!

Kroger 5/7/09

I was lured to Kroger this week for the 3 Day Sale. I went in with a specific list of Kraft BBQ Sauce, SoftSoap, (which I read on southernsavers were both 10/10.00) and Dixie Crystals sugar that was .99 cents. I had a .30 coupon that I expected to double and get the sugar for .39

I arrive to Kroger and the price on the BBQ was 4/5.00 instead of 1.00 each. I had a .75 coupon and justified the higher price buy getting the 55% more FREE Bonus Bottles. (.50 each was not too bad.) The SoftSoap was not 1.00 so I passed on it since it should go to 1.00 before my coupons expire and I have plenty stockpiled up from an earlier sale. I only had 4 sugar coupons so grabbed 4 bags and headed to check out. My sugar coupons beeped for some reason and they have to manually override them PLUS they would not double. The lady at customer service pointed out they they state "do not double" which I didn't even notice but I thought Kroger doubled the coupon and the coupon company gives the face value of the coupon so why would it matter anyway? I decided that .69 for sugar (versus .39 as I was expecting) was still a great deal so I just paid and went on my way. Next time I will be sure to check my local sales ad and my coupons before I head out to Kroger.

I did a lot of shopping this week and I'm still under my $75 per week budget. Maybe this means I can adjust my weekly budget down to $65. I replenished my cleaning supply stockpile (thanks to BOGO + the SC Johnson booklets at Publix) and have enough Bodywash to last for quite some time! I also was able to stock up on Skippy which was great since we were down to our last jar. :-)
